If you are here on a permanent basis it is a legal requirement to obtain Residencia.

If you are not State Pension age you will require annual Private Healthcare, paid in full for a year.

We obtained our Residencia by doing it ourselves and cut out having to pay fees for someone else to do it for us, there our invaluable guides on this Forum which would help you with the process especially Jim´s Guide.

Hello, as John says, if you live here, it is a legal requirement. If you are moving away permanently, or will be resident in another country and spending less than 183 days a year here, I believe you fill in the same form EX18 but tick the cancellation box. Google "How do I cancel my Spanish residency" and there is a lot of help there.

How on earth does someone justify charging €116 per person?? Total rip-off!

Download Modelo EX-18 as a PDF document, fill in your details, either on your computer or in black ink on a copy you have printed,  tick the box at the bottom called "Cese" and write "Vuelta a pais de origen" (plus "por venta de vivienda" if you've sold your house here").

Take the form to the office of the Policia Nacional who did your residencia originally and give them the form together with your passport (plus a copy) and your residencia card or green document (plus a copy). They will de-register you and give you a stamped form to prove it. They make no charge for this.

Job done for nothing!!!

Geoff.

I did ours last week Norma, but on the Spanish form, and it was the last option, right at the bottom of the page, slightly apart from the long list of other options.

Why not download the Spanish version and compare the two, side-by-side?

Come back to me if you're still stuck.

Geoff.
