Just out of interest are you planning on making your home in Spain "on a rest of my life" basis? I only ask because if you are then please do your children a big favour and send them to a Spanish school where they will gain Spanish exams and hopefully go to university where they can graduate and get a job that is not in a bar, estate agents or cleaning, not that any of those jobs are not worthwhile, just that most of the English children here can hardly string two words together and are not usually encouraged by their parents to be fully integrated into the system and country, it's a shame and I speak as a parent of three and five grandchildren all of whom have grown up abroad and now have professional jobs, nurse, technician, nursery school teacher (children) IT guy, receptionist, chief, and welder with own company - a girl - (grandchildren) youngest grandchild training for the national team to ride dressage and jumping she is 11.
Today I had a long conversation over messenger with a two year old who is being brought up tri language wonderful, she was swopping languages fluently to see which ones I was speaking.
Give them a gift, a gift of belonging and not just existing on the sidelines with neither foot firmly anywhere, and if in the future you decide (or they do) to return to the UK then you will have increased their resume tenfold if they are naturally bilingual.
Ok shutting up now :)
