Narrowing down my search for my perfect location and home and nothing is better than insights from people who live or have lived in the area... I had fallen in love with a home in the La Llacuna area,  just 3 km outside of Villalonga but thanks to a heads up from a forum member I looked at the 3 km road on google earth and found a steep winding road up a mountain and being 60 and partially disabled, not something I want to deal with and so the search goes on!

I have been looking at the countryside outside of Xativa, some good properties and prices seem good... Any information I can get about living in the area would be great, Specifically area near the black caves, outside the town of Canals and in the Bixquert valley..

I like privacy and quiet but want to be close to amenities, good roads and easy access, a friendly and cosmopolitan community, good phone service and internet and a good animal rescue charity to volunteer for.  I am still open to other areas as well... Because I have a house full of rescued dogs and cats renting first or coming over to spend time and explore aren't options for me... so any insights are really appreciated!  Thankyou

Hi Jacqui

I see your post was a year ago but I wondered if you’d had any advice. I’m looking for much the same as you so looking around Xativa as a possibility. There doesn’t seem to be much in the way of rentals…. Did you make the move and, if so, how’s it been?

Regards

Marian

Hi Marian, I ended up changing the location I was looking in to further north. I had previously lived in Valencia for nearly 2 years and loved it there,  one of my favorite cities ever!  So while I don't want to live in a city, it is nice to have access to one you love. I am now looking inland from Valencia, no more than 30 minute drive and really like the Lliria area and am close to putting in an offer on a home I have found there.

Hola Jacqui

I’m so pleased you found your special place. I will take a look at Lliria.

I’ve always wanted to visit Valencia… it looks amazing.

Good luck in your new life.

Thank you! Outside the riverbed that encircles the old section it's just another city, but inside... its pure magic, hope you get the opportunity to visit it soon. X
