Hello. My wife and I are looking to move to OC in 2028 and will be travelling over in April to look at different locations. Our preference will be for a strong ex pat community with plenty to do but without being too hectic. Cost of properties will be important, budget in the region of £250k, possibly £300k. Will be looking at houses rather than appartments. Recently met a lady from Playa Flamenca who spoke highly of the area so one we are are considering. In April we hope to spend a couple of days in 3 or 4 locations. Looking for recommendations on where? Thank you.

Hi, does anybody know if there is a Temu collection point in El galan/ Villamartin area, when I've looked it seems to show different places to return items but not collection points. Thank you

Can anyone advise the process / cost to transport goods from Spain to UK? It is clothes in suitcases, small house items like vases, bed that I want to bring back to the the UK. No electricals, ie fridge etc. Bulkiest item is the bed and mattress.

Dogs on the beach😬.

Had a nice few hours on Calla Caleta beach Cabo Roig with about 200 other people. The only place today where you could really get out of the extreme wind. There were a number of dogs  of all sizes on the beach and of course they were playing and doing the things that they do. There were quite a number of small children playing in the sand. There is a huge sign indicating that dogs are not allowed. On this beach the restriction is all year. Of course there are some beaches where dogs are allowed. So how is this policed? The beach bar is responsible for maintaining standards and cleanlines now its open all year but ignore the problem. On Guardamar beach the police are proactive even at this time of year so should objectors make a call to the local police in the Orihuela Costas.

Hi guys , within next few weeks about to complete a purchase .

Two things :?

1. All is good on the legal side and no issues with that unless someone wants to highlight anything significant to watch out for .

2. I have a bank account set up in Spain - Caixa which I haven’t used at all but can do going forward . 

Also have a WISE bank account which was advised to set up and will use for DD and expenses in Spain in time . 

3. My issue is the large amount to be paid at this stage . Want to avoid fees and charges from any source as best as I can . How do people usually do this as best practice to avoid unnecessary costs ..

4. do you transfer directly the amount to your solicitor and let them sort the developer 

Do you arrange to transfer directly from sterling account ( converted to euros ) and pay the builder direct . Set up to happen on the day of signing ?

Do you lodge to wise account ( stg ) and then convert to Euro account and transfer from that ?

Someone mentioned giving the builder at notary office a cheque on the day ?

just curious as to Safeway ? Best way to avoid fees ? Speediest way to allow all to happen as required for all parties
