No smoking is allowed on bar terraces. You will have to be social distancing and are likely to be on the street to smoke.

This will get some reaction but the ban on smoking on terraces has now been removed in the Valencia Region. The ban, brought in during the Covid restrictions, has now been lifted by the Valencian Council and it will be left up to the bar/restaurant owners on whether to allow it or not.
It comes after many bar owners have complained about the lack of customers since the ban came in and, with the high temperatures we've been having, bars in the area are showing a 30% loss of trade on those using the outdoor areas.
Now, as a smoker, I dislike smoking anywhere that food is served. If they continue to stop smoking on terraces where meals are served then I would have no problem. However, in just pubs, I see no problems. Loads of room in the aircon areas inside and I also dislike the mess on the pavements opposite the bars where smokers go. Some smokers are their own worse enemy by not putting out cigarettes in the correct receptacles. On the beach, I take an empty can to put the ends in if needed but many just put them out on the sand which is terrible. And I got a mouthful from a delightful lady today at our pool when I told her smoking was not allowed in the pool area (again, the unthinking ones putting out their ends on the grass or around the pool). If the lifeguards we employ did their job properly they'd have told her.
But, smoking is now allowed on terraces at the discretion of the owners. Must admit, many places have been ignoring this ban for some time. Hotel we stayed at in Almunecar allowed smoking outside and in the beach bed area just off the pool as did a restaurant we went to in Calpe.

Think smoking is still banned on beaches

Not a blanket ban. Some beaches ban it and some don't. Just look for the signs.
And, in the Alicante province, 1 in 4 bars/restaurants will still not allow smoking on the terraces. More than half have said they will have designated smoking areas which will be cordoned off with plastic walls.
Valencia Region was the only region to maintain this ban.
