Buying in Castalla International
We are interested in buying on Castalla International. Is there any advice current residents could give us please.
Are there any negatives to living here? Thank you

Hi Neil,
I've been here since 2003 and the only real negative I can think of at the moment is that it can get cold in the winter.
If you're looking at property on Phase II please be aware that a lot of them do not have an Habitation Certificate, this is an issue that Local Government may well be sorting out in the near future but that's not a definite.
If you're nature lover then this is a wonderful place to be, however if you're looking for exciting nightlife or boutique shopping on your doorstep, then I'd probably advise you to look somewhere else ;-))
If you need more in depth information on what there is or isn't, in and around Castalla, then please feel free to drop me a line.
Best,
JP
Good morning JP,
Thanks for your reply.
We are only looking at phase 1 properties as we believe they all have habitation certificates.
How cold does it get in the winter and we are assuming that January is the coldest month. How low does the temperature go.
Is there a significant difference between the temperature on the coast and Castalla.
Thanks in advance. Neil3
Hi Neil,
That's correct, all properties on Phase I have Habitation Certificates.
As a general rule of thumb you can say that there is a 5°C temperature difference between the coast and Castalla, usually in a downward direction ;-)) Mind you sometimes this is flipped and Castalla is warmer than the coast, but more often than not, this happens during the summer months. During the coldest months of January and February it is not unusual to have frost on the windscreen and also a sugar coating of snow once during the winter. On the other hand if you have a sunny spot in the garden you'll be able to keep your tan going all year. If the properties you view don't have adequate heating then it would be advisable to budget for it....Oh and before I forget, I think the lowest temperature I've seen up here was aorund -5°C but that's first thing before the sun comes out, I would say that the lowest you can expect during the day would be around 8°C but that's exceptional....
Hope this helps...anything else just ask.
Best,
JP
