My understanding is you will need to have a negative PCR test within 72 hours before arriving the UK and you will then be subject to self quarantine for 10 days unless a further test is taken after 5 days and proves negative. As a Spanish resident you will be able to return to Spain but will need a negative PCR result within 72 hours before arriving.
Roves negative

Hi Marshall88
The rules for quarantine when returning to the UK from countries not on the Govt red list (incl Spain) are as per below, copied from Govt website 5 mins ago https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-quarantine-when-you-arrive-in-england

Hi Marshall
You can fly to the U.K. having had a negative Antigen test in Spain, rather than the more expensive PCR test. 🤪🥂

Hi Marshall,
Your Mother will be so glad to see you, hope you travel soon.
The post showing the necessary requirements seem to be the case. You will have to have the negative test, fill in a locator form and book a post arrival test which includes quarantine for 10 days. I hope you will be able to stay with your mother otherwise your time will be wasted quarantining elsewhere. I don’t know of any exceptions unfortunately.I have heard of one firm that charge £99 for the test which is the cheapest. Scotland is £430 for 2 (NHS). All the best

So sorry for this long winded email but I am sitting in the UK smiling at the simplicity of this answer.
Sadly our Son had passed away but as we had not had both our vaccines we could not return until last week.
Starting our trip with a very simple Antigen test 50Euro each
We travelled to the UK Sunday evening arriving at 10.45 this we thought was day one not so that's day 2..
We ordered our day 2 & day 8 tests paying £169 each from Concepto Clinics. We also ordered early release packs at £149 each for day 5 & 8.
We had the expected phone calls each day from UK Government who checked we were self isolating.
The stress begins when by day 4 you have no tests arrive, Day 4 we were told to ring 119 The Covid Helpline.
They were brilliant and clear speaking advising us they would send us our day 2 covid tests free of charge..
Many many calls to Concepto clinic but told on way with Hermes ..Many more calls & emails to Hermes who advised they were at depot then on their way
On day 6 we received our day 2 and day 5 tests.from Government. Tests were done and posted same day.
Later that day our2 & 8 day tests arrived from Concepto Clinic. This is day 6
We are not chicks and did not think we were thick but if you can understand these Government Forms and test papers lucky you. Thank goodness for our Children and computers. Yes, we are under stress with our loss but had we known how difficult everything would be, no way would we have traveled until the corridor was opened.
Hope you have a smoother run than we have

Hi
I just wanted to say how sorry we are for the loss of your son, we lost a son August 2018, very sorry I feel for you loss,
Gloria and Ann
I feel for you. I can’t begin to imagine how you are coping. My old mum used to say she couldn’t think of anything worse than losing your child. My thoughts are with you both 🤪🥂

This post that was quoted has been deleted.
I dont wish to turn this into a bereavement forum ,but just to say ,condolences to all who have lost children, especially if it was your only child ,we lost our son at 40 in December 2016 ,although we are fortunate we have our daughter his older sister ,just to say I've found that things do improve with time ,although my wife probably wont agree
