Hi! My son is 8 (9 in a few days) and is feeling really lonely. He has school online from home and we were expecting to find more British kids in our area for him to play with but we haven’t come across any. If anyone knows of any kids clubs or if you have kids or a similar age and would be ok to meet up for a play or something. That would be great! Thanks - L :)

I’m assuming your resident here or planning to make Spain your home ? If I’m correct you really should enrol your son in a Spanish school  he will learn the language and make friends probably both Spanish and English .
Without wanting to offend you I think it’s a mistake to expect to continue to try and keep everything British when you live in Spain , your son will be missing a great opportunity . The benefits of Spanish school are huge from language to sport activities etc . It will also help you integrate with other mums . I know it’s a bit daunting but think about it ,I know many Brits who’s children attend Spanish school and have settled very quickly , good luck

I agree, home schooling isn't giving him any social interaction which in the future will make it even harder for him to make friends. Schools here are better than the UK so you both will benefit

Hello! No offensive taken don’t worry!

As we initially have come for 3 months as a tester to see if it would work for us, we haven’t enrolled him but we definitely have every intention of doing so. He has had huge difficulties in his UK school, the support was appalling.. but we’ve been told that the Spanish schools are a lot better so we will definitely be enrolling him as he needs to social aspect. Homeschooling is just temporary until we have everything in place, it was just any ideas for the time being until then :)

Really good to hear that you would recommend the schools here!

Hello, of course completely agree with you! Homeschooling is just temporary while we get everything sorted and find a school for him to attend. We initially came for a trial to see if it would work for us then will be moving forward with the permanent move, it was just for the time being. But I’m so glad to hear the schools are good here! His UK school was terrible.

I schools are better not good, no school is enjoyable 🤣🤣🤣🤣. But here the chance are he will get a better education because the system is designed correctly, he wont progress if he doesn't study and work hard so if he wants be with his friends he will stick in. The UK doesn't work like that

Haha true 😂. He didn’t cope in UK schools as he has ADHD and they nitpicked at everything and just handled him so badly. He’s actually really well behaved he’s just impulsive a says random words every 5 minutes 😂 such a caring and polite kid, so a different structure would be ideal for him. He’s great at making friends so he’ll do great there, just need to find some other kids to play with for now 😂 he’s learning Spanish an knows basic stuff but not fluent so hence looking for British kids in the area for now!
