Hi Alan,
I moved to Spain 4 years ago and did what your looking to do. I too started off charging €10 an hour but found that because I was the cheapest on the market, I lost more jobs than gained simply because people thought that if I'm charging that low,I can't be any good.
May I suggest you start off offering your services at between €12.50-€15 an hour. That's still cheaper than the norm (assuming it's cash in hand) and a price many are and will be willing to pay.
Just a thought you may wish to consider.
Blessings
"(assuming it's cash in hand)": Is that like "working illegally" ?

There are 3 ways of working here in Spain:
1. Being employed with a contract in place
2. Autonimo - self employed. Yearly increased costs per month which are paid irrespective of whether you work
3. Cash in hand. Doing the odd job here and earning 'pocket/beer money'
If your looking at having a business then you will need Ootion 2.
