Best place to buy lemon or lime tree
Can anyone recommend the best place to buy a lemon or lime tree, as well as citronella plant, and if that is the best plant to keep mosquitoes away.
Many thanks
Carol

Any garden centre you care to name!
The Spanish plant which I know as Greek Basil, a very small leaf variety which grows as a bush, beside their doors to deter mosquitoes. In my opinion nothing does, other than chemical warfare, ie burning the outdoor spirals in sitting areas and slathering oneself with repellent. And a large stock of antihistamine cream to treat the bites.
And indoors, the plug in things, especially overnight in the bedroom.
No, no one likes the idea, but nothing else works very well. Unless you can afford the garden spraying service every month, which was brilliant, but we couldn’t afford it. And before everyone screams about destroying wildlife, it doesn’t, it only targets mosquitoes.

You’ll find lemon and oranges trees in every garden centre, markets sell them and the Chino’s.
The Chino near Lidl -Euro Mart? is actually pretty good for plants as they do seem to look after them.
You will struggle to find lime trees in this area, they’re nowhere near as popular. The garden centre told me the growing conditions aren’t ideal for them.

We have mozzie nets on all our windows and around our covered terrace and we are safe indoors but if I step outside, mainly around dusk, I get bitten. We live in the Campo and have a lot of balsas (open water stores) around us so worrying about standing water in pots around the garden is a waste of time for us.
You can buy Agua de Colonia quite cheaply in most supermarkets in the baby section or Avon Skin so Soft which I have heard the army use but none of them smell very nice.
From google- Not only does lavender keep mosquitoes away, but dried lavender is often used in sachets to repel moths and other pests from closets and wardrobes. Lavender does best with full sun and good drainage. While it does well in many climates, it thrives in warmer areas.
If you are at home when you get bitten then heat a teaspoon and put it on the bite as it helps take the itch away.
As Stephanie says, antihistamine cream.
We have tried burning a multitude of the Citronella candles if we are sat outside on a calm day but they don't seem to do much, the smelly lotions work best with me.
Good luck.
