Late payment by estate agents of taxes

HI
Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with their estate agents not paying taxes on time after the purchase of a property. The agents had the funds but did not pay the taxes on time resulting in us getting three fines one substantial. THe agency charged us to do these tasks offering full legal service and back up. They were up tp 8 months late and we had to really push to get the deeds from them, the notario said they were also late getting paid.
If you experienced this and have any suggestions that would be great as we would like to get them to repay us.
