Hi all we've moved into our new home after doing a lot of refurbishment. We have polished porcelain floor tiles everywhere. I love them but there light in colour so shows everything. I don't mind cleaning I love it but I have trued a few different mops amd cleaning solutions. Latest was vileda spray mop in between weekly steaming and mercadona pink floor cleaner. Constant streaks unless I use dry cloth after. Bit of a pain. Any tips out there please

I would simply use the steam cleaner. I’ve had about three in succession over the past thirty years or so and hardly ever use anything else. I suspect some of the streaks may be residue from chemical cleaning agents in the water having remained on the surface. Two or three goes with the Karcher should get rid of that.

Just seems like hard work taking out steam cleaner every day. Thought the spray mop would be goid for spot cleaning. I have a huge surface to keep clean. There must be a streak free cleaner you can get no? Thanks Annette

We have 67 sq mt of floor tiling. Takes about 20 minutes with steam cleaner, changing cloth about twice! Lives behind door in understairs cupboard, dont find it a problem! But then I am never going to wash floors daily!!!!

I have a steam cleaner but you need to buff after that too. Maybe I'm just too fussy lol

Karcher. But don’t buy the cheapest versions as they aren’t meant for serious use, having very small reservoirs and lower pressure. I made this mistake when replacing my large twenty year old one and bought a cheaper version, which effectively resembles a stick vacuum cleaner and got rid of it after a few months and bought one with a larger reservoir which is separate to the cleaning head and which is much better. They have the obvious website and frequently have special offers online.

You may be correct, but in thirty years of steam cleaning my floors, frequently, the grout has never been affected. Yes, I can see it perhaps breaking up non epoxy non waterproof grout, but this should not be used on floors or areas likely to be subject to damp, steam etc. In fact Karcher make an attachment specifically for cleaning grout and I have also used their wire brushes for this. Never any problem.

Repairing one as we speak  .as you can see this is the result of steam also the grout made 30 years ago is totally different from stuff made past 10 years .just need to be cautious

Hope this helps
