We have just activated our on/off service for the month of March 2023 with Avatel and they sent me an email yesterday stating that they have a new bank account and therefore a new IBAN number.  Our payment of 24.99 euro will be due around 6th March so I need to know how I can pay the bill of 24.99 euro by 6th March as they have only supplied me with an IBAN number and nothing else?  I have cancelled the previous direct debit (via internet banking) with the old IBAN number.  We are not in Spain until 13th March so in the meantime I need to find a way to pay this forthcoming bill.  I have emailed Avatel but no reply.  I have tried to send another email via their website but because I don't have a Spanish telephone number to enter in a box that is obligatory, it keeps giving the message "invalid number" and I cannot send it.  Our bank is notoriously bad at replying to emails so I won't get any joy there.  I have found a telephone number for the Avatel shop in La Zenia Boulevard but I noticed another comment on this forum where someone had asked "what was going on there" so is the shop closed or something?  If anyone has any ideas then I would be very grateful.  Thank you.

Hi Kathryn

In the email from Avatel it talks about the takeover of TV Horadada, who were the company who originally installed fibre in Playa Flamenca. It then states that if you pay your bill via "bank transfer or account payment" you will need to send it to the new IBAN (ie not the defunct TV Horadada account). I take this to mean that if you pay by DD then you don't need to do anything! So I'm afraid you shot yourself in the foot!

If you're still struggling to contact them, then I suggest you register at https://clienteshoradada.avatel.es/index.html from where I imagine you can pay online - just click the "invoices" button and see what it says.

The office in the Boulevard can get very busy and I suspect they will talk to the next customer in the queue rather than answer the phone!

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Cheers

Steve

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Thank you very much for your help with this.  It is difficult at times to sort things out when you're in the UK!  Plus, I have to remember that some things are done differently in Spain to the way things are done over here!

Thank you Steve.  I will wait and see what happens and if all else fails then I will try to pay my bill via the link that you have provided.  Yes, we have queued in the Avatel shop before and have noticed that the phone goes unanswered!
