Can anyone recommend a good hotel in the Valencia area for my wife's 60th, must have parking as we are coming from Quesada in a car, not bothered about area as long as it has good public transport to get in and out of Valencia, oh and things to do whilst we are there, cheers

I like the Melia Hotels. They have parking. Things to do:
The Cathedral. It houses the Holy Grail. was the chalice used by Jesus at the last supper. Be careful looking up at the ceilings. I fell off the steps!! Nearby is St Nicholas church with a spectacular frescoed ceiling which has been recently restored. The City of Arts & Sciences which also houses Ocean World. The Market Building. Take a walk along the old Turia bed which is now a park and of course Malvarosa Beach. If you like soccer. Valencia CF Mestalla Stadium. Shopping El Corte Ingles, Pintor Sorolla Colon.

When I go to Valencia I drive to Xeraco and park outside the train station for free. Trains are roughly every 45 minutes into the centre of Valencia and inexpensive.
I would hate to drive in Valencia - it's scary!😱

Many times ( but over a year ago),I have also found (nr the Oceanogràfic, Rio Turia). Easy drive, easy free parking. I stayed in hotel Primus ( nearby), but loads of other hotels around. I like to park my car & forget it until I leave. It's ok if you don't mind a walk. Metro available, bikes for hire. My favourite city. V

Hotel Rey Don Jaime. Pleasant walk to Oceanographic. Taxis outside, or frequent bus service two minutes walk from front door, a Euro to centre of Valencia. Has underneath parking which must be prebooked. We’ve stayed there twice, although would not recommend the breakfast, but plenty of small bars, cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Perfectly good business type hotel.
