Hello This will be our first tax return. Does anyone have a simple guide for me to use or can recommend someone who can do this for us. I have nothing and my partner has a pension (NHS) in the UK

Always best to get a gestor or accountant to do the first income tax return for you. You can always copy it in later years.

Also remember the NHS pension should no longer be taxable in UK and only taxable in Spain unless it is being paid by a local authority (such as school nurse or whatever). If paid by NHSBA then you should have sent a Spain Individual Form to HMRC so they can stop taking tax in UK and you only pay it in Spain.

John123456 has given you some good links to start you off.

Even if you receive no income then you should submit an initial income tax return which gets you on the system and tells the Health department how much discount to give on your medications.

Hi

We used an advisor to file our first returns some years ago and our income is as simple as yours. We now do it ourselves online - all we have to do is find the exchange rate for 31st December and convert our sterling amount to euros, and then type it into box 003.

If you have a digital certificate you could look at it now at https://sede.agenciatributaria.gob.es/ - you don't have to actually submit it until June.

Cheers

Steve
