Hello All
Just the heads up to anyone applying for a non lucrative visa at the Manchester Spanish consulate. We attended our visa appointment at the BLS processing centre on Monday to drop off our documents. On Thursday I received a email from the consulate stating we had missing documents and that we had 10 days to address the issue. The missing documents were our 'Medical certificate with apostille and sworn translation'. I know the we dropped off these documents as I had checked and double checked before attending our appointment.
On Friday we drove from Birmingham to Manchester as they gave us one hour window for the public to walk in/drop off etc. between 10.00 and 11.00. when we spoke to the officer at the consulate said that we did not have an apostille on the sworn translation of our medical certificates, I stated that when the documents were returned from the apostille service in Coventry they only put apostille on the original certificate. The officer needed to speak with superior and the issue was resolved he said ' no problem we have all the necessary paperwork' without an explanation to the original request. Well as you can imagine we were really anxious as to what the outcome was going to be so extremely relieved when he said NO PROMBLEM. I asked if there were any other issues with our documentation and he said no we have everything now.
I returned to Birmingham and called the apostille service in Coventry to inform them of our situation, The lady I spoke to said 'Oh is that what they are asking for now thanks for letting us know i will inform everyone' I couldn't believe what I was hearing and explained that there surely needs to be better communication between the consulates and apostille services as to the latest requirements. So in short if your are going to apply ask the question with apostille services. Good luck!!

I am about to buy a house in Elche and there are some pine trees on the property, given the pool has a leak I think the roots could be the cause, can I cut them down, do I need permission or license from el ayuntamento? My 'helpful' neighbour to be says they are protected, but I don't know if she is biased given they give her garden much welcome shade.

We are here now looking at places to make a permanent move to, we thought villa martin but being here we are not so sure we are happy to be further inland if there's a sizeable expat community , we are not beach people , just has to have amenities, and not in the flood risk areas like almoradi, or algorfa , or so I've heard , any advice would be welcome , even further in land further north, we are looking for a townhouse / villa etc def not an apartment

Hi,

No more than twenty minutes left out this was taken.May have been a knock on the outside door by person that did take my wife does think.a silver cross pram with a grey hood,my name with flight sticker still attached.
Is it regular for people to take things like this?
Especially as could see was people on holidays(was thinking charity people or bin men)
would there be anyone to contact if it was work people?
Many thanks for any help or advice
