As previously reported on the forum, one day after my 70 th birthday two weeks ago, I went to the health centre to arrange the flu and COVID jabs, my husband had his a week earlier. My appointment is for DECEMBER 29 th!! Normally we have our flu jabs at the start of November. I asked if the receptionist could give me an earlier appointment to no avail. I went back to explain that I have asthma,  and am prone to bronchitis , again no change.

As I hope to go back to the UK mid December, I am so worried about getting flu etc. I spoke to the GP who said nothing could be done, the COVID vaccine is Government controlled! I asked if I could have the flu jab early and keep the December COVID date, again ‘No’.

Then I asked, after speaking to the pharmacist, if she could give me a prescription for the flu jab, then, for a cost, it could be given in the pharmacy.. to say she was shocked is an understatement, never heard of that….so back to square one, however, after this long winded piece, can anyone recommend a private clinic that I can get the flu jab, locally? Apparently I could just walk into Boots in England and have one there… however I would prefer to have it here…cheers…

It's like the dark ages in this country, a Pharmacy never heard of giving the flu jab, we can get it in Asda while we do shopping.

3rd world country expect nothing and you wont be disappointed.

Why don’t you have it when you get here if it’s only three weeks away.

It’s free and available everywhere, and the flu hasn’t hit us yet so you should be fine

My wife and I walked into the pharmacy at Punta Prima and both got the flu jab there and then. €36 in total.

We also bought 2 x flu vaccine in September from our pharmacy took them to our private doc who injected them. No need for prescription and 30 euro for the two. Injected as part of our private health insurance package.

December is a little late for the flu jab.

Good luck.

Hi

We came back from Spain last Wednesday we had been there since end of August, we live in the UK , the NHS sent a link for us to book so I booked the covid and I ask them would they  do the flu at the same time, we usually go to the local Lloyds Pharmacy , so when I booked the  covid it was at local hall they said they they  would do the flu, we have been this morning and had both, but the government said that you can go to walk in clinics, if your a resident in Spain, maybe when you come over you could pay at Boots or Asda for flu,  it was all organised today and lots of people there.

Up until last winter I could get a flu jab over the counter at a pharmacy for €14, so please don’t knock this country.
