Car/Road Tax

I've just bought a new car and it is taxed but the dealer said I have to check what month my area does it's taxes.
Do any of you know what month Almoradi does it's road taxes?

Inquire at your Council Dept. "Tributos" for "Impuestos sobre determinados medios de transporte".

Road tax (IVTM) is levied by each town hall and in most of Alicante province is collected by SUMA who collect all local taxes. The period of taxation is January to December each year, but SUMA typically send the bills out in May. The road tax for 2021 would have been the responsibility of the previous owner so your liability begins in 2022. If the car is brand new, I imagine that the dealer would take care of this, but for clarification, check with the SUMA office. There is one in Almoradi
