Hello, hoping someone can advise us, we are thinking of moving to benimeli as we have seen a property we would like to buy. How difficult is it for an expat that speaks a little Spanish. Are there English speaking doctors? Does the ayuntamiento have anyone who speaks English for the padrons?

Thank you any info would help

In my experience of living in Spain for 7 years is not to expect any government or doctors departments to speak English and why should they?

I've had times when the same person will speak English one time and not the next. For any important meetings or appointments I get an interpreter to come with me.  Often the interpreter knows which departments to attend and will see the matter through to get satisfactory results. The going rate for interpreters here in Benidorm is €20 for the first hour then €10 for following hours. Well worth it in my opinion to get things done first time.

Thanks Steve, it's not that I expect it, I was just wandering. I do speak a bit of Spanish. It's just some areas speak more English than others, was just curious. But thanks for the reply
