Hi,

I am looking for a person who would be able to cut a hole in a single glass window,(as the gas boiler need a ventilation pipe connected to it)

I have been trying to find the person to do it but been let down again.... my lawyer is not answer my e mails ,so i dread to think it won't be done during my next visit in Elda....(as the repsol technician said he won't connect the gas bottle, which I understand,as it's a safety issue.but as a result I have no hot water in my flat.)

Can anyone recommend the person, handyman,or got tools to do it?

Thanks for any advice

Lucy

Hi Lucy

I am a handyman and cover your area, however, glass cutting is not an expertise I hold I am afraid

More typically, a ventilation hole is cut in the wall, using a diamond cutter, with a ventilation cover placed over it.

Have you been specifically told you must put the ventilation hole in the glass?

If your answer is yes then may I suggest you re-post and ask for a qualified Gas fitter as they are more likely to have the items you require.

I wish you the best of luck with your project.

If you do find you ARE able to put the hole in the wall then let me know as I can ask builder contacts for a hole cutter and may be able to offer my services then.

Hope it helps

Thanks for your reply/advise.

There is a boiler on the one wall, and the window on the opposite side-and unfortunately that's the only way ...

The previous owner never had it done,so when I asked for boiler inspection and  ordered a gas bottle-the guy said it got to be done (even draw a nice circle on the top corner of the window :-)

The thing I can't understand is  why the repsol hasn't got a person to do it? As he said when the hole is there he can come and connect the ventilation pipe....

Thanks again,

Lucy

OK, I would post for a window fitter / gas fitter / glazer for your need.

I do not know of many handymen who will have what you need to cut the window.

Let us know how you get on :o)

I did reposted:-)

Well knowing my luck probably nobody will...

parently it a simple tool, and doesn't take long  to do it(Maybe will be easier to get my friend and the tool from UK :-) to do it  definitely less stress...;-)

Regards

Lucy

Hi,as predicted-i ve been let down again,so no luck with my window.i got my last resource on Monday-if the gentleman won't come I think I will just order a new window 😕

You did mention the you are able to cut a ventilation hole in the wall,(I have a funny feeling I also need that/ it is  a requirement.)

Could you please give me a rough idea how much would it cost?

Thanks

Lucy
