I don't know the area you are thinking of buying a house/villa.
We have bought a new TOWNHOUSE in Finestrat . It took 8 months to completion (instead of 4 months)
The standard of work is worse than poor, the delays, excuses and even now over 40 defects were listed to the developer on 3rd june, and none carried out.
All I can advise you on, 1.NEVER USE A LAWYER RECOMMENDED BY THE DEVELOPER, NEVER NEVER.2.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GUARANTEES ON A COMPLETION DATE THAT SUITS YOU. 3. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BANK GUARANTEES. 4. MOST AND MOST OF ALL, THE LICENCE FOR FIRST OCCUPATION IS IN PLACE, THIS IS SUCH A VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENT. WITHOUT THIS YOU WILL NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL ADDRESS, NOR WILL YOU BE ABLE TO SIGN UP FOR UTILITIES ETC ETC.
THE GOOD NEWS, FINESTRAT IS A VERY UPCOMING AREA, THE NEXT MARBELLA.
