I am in the process of buying a property in Gaianes but have recently seen that neighbouring properties are also for sale, just wondered if there was any publicly known reason why people are selling up in this area?

For example if there is a plan for building develop or some type of law that has been effected which is an issue for property owners.

It could just be the general exodus from the country to towns, especially as the average age in small towns like this increases. There are very few facilities there so pensioners move to the towns where their adult children live, especially from properties without heating, it´s just too much for them. Properties can take years to sell with the usual buyers being ex-pats.

I'd ask your town hall for sight of their "Plan General Ordenacion Urbana" (PGOU).
