Thank you for replying still not sure what I should do though. I’ll wait and see what Monday brings when I go to the vets for dogs passports. If it’s closed I stay!
"I don't know where they got their information from, but it certainly isn't what the government has announced."
So for the benefit of those whose Spanish is not up to scratch how about correcting whatever is wrong with the piece and reposting it - unless you know of a site with proper info in English of course.
I'd do it myself but unfortunately my Spanish is not good enough and I'd probably make a worse job of it not better!
"UK may close their borders as well"
While that is a possibility assuming you can actually reach a point of entry as UK citizen (whether resident or not) you have an absolute right to enter the country which nobody can deny you.

Thank you all so much I really appreciate you taking the time to advise me. I will hopefully be able to make my journey to my family. Please look after yourselves and would be nice if when this is all over we can confirm on here we are all ok and our experience. Take care and many many thanks

This link is very useful as it provides clear questions and answers that many people seem to need.
Thank you

I'm no expert on the Spanish press but El Pais (they have an English version) and El Diaro are two of the main Spanish newspapers of repute. As usual the English press including the Guardian are mis-reporting the situation here by stating that Spain has declared a state of emergency. Spain has declared a State of Alarm which is the lowest of the states of Alarm, Emergency or Siege that is open to it to declare.

I agree RayD. Official notice is helpful but is perhaps not a quick or easy read.

I will do this now. I've posted this in what appeared to me to be the most appropriate forum.
