You will probably get a variety of indifferent views.

I suggest that if you are thinking of living there why not have a short holiday and find out all the answers. I wouldn't live somewhere on other peoples views.

Hi Steve

Thanks for your reply, we currently live in Oliva and have looked at several areas , but was looking for inside knowledge like is there a sewage plant just up the road etc which you may not discover until after you have started living there.

That is exactly my point maz. A 2 week stopover in the area will give you more than enough time to check everything.

I live beteeen Gaianes and Alcocer de Planes. It's a great area, quiet and countryside very scenic. Ideal if you like long walks. Also 5mins from Beniarrés village which is the most vibrant of the 3 villages. Muro de Alcoy nearest large town, 10mins by car, with Mercsdona and Hiperber supermarkets plus numerous small stores. 2 vets, Asis very good, and large medical centre. Also dentists. Next larger town is Cocentaina, about 15 mibs from Gaianes, followed immediately by Alcoy (more a city) with hospital, etc. A7 Alicante - Valencia motorwsy access about 10mins from Gaianes. Local road into Muro very good, dual carriagewsy to Cocentaina and Alcoy plus A7 exits. Don't know about the treatment plants around Gaianes, never seen nor smelt one! There is one serves Muro but it is way out of town near A7. Also Gaianes overlooks Beniarres reservior. Area is very hot, currently 39', in the summer(last year was up to 50' for a number of days) but can be nippy in the winter. Have had some frost on cars and once snow. Overall I thoroughly enjoy living here, people very friendly. Couldn't pay me enough to live on the coast. Hope this helps but best you visit as suggested.
