Hello

We are going back to the UK in January but wonder if it is possible to receive a booster jab here in Spain as non residents?

You would first have to obtain a temporary SIP card from the local salud, which if you had your first two jabs here  you should already have.

Depends on your age group as at present it is only the over 70 age group that have being invited for boosters. If you read on here you’ll see that some 70+ year olds have appointments to have their booster in January.

This supply of vaccines arriving this week is for the 5-11 age group, which will delay the booster schedule.

Just to add for info, I'm in the 60-70 age category and getting my booster today at the same time as my flu jab at the Centro Salud.

If you've had your previous jabs in the UK you might as well wait until you return home, then all your jabs will be on the NHS covid passport.

BTW Long queues for the booster in the UK after Boris announced that the booster's now available to everyone. I would recommend making an appointment for your return.

Arrived  at the Centro Salud 15 minutes before the appointment time I'd been given to find a small queue. Doors were  opened, processed quickly, flu and Covid booster administered and out 10 minutes after my appointment time. Not bad  considering some people are waiting 7 hours in England.

Spain is so backward, isn't it 😎

Hi David,

Where did you receive your first 2 doses?  I've just seen on this morning's news that UK citizens need to have the third jab on their Covid 'passport' in order to be considered fully vaccinated.  If you had your first 2 jabs in the UK, it will probably be more convenient for you to have your third jab there, so that your documentation is complete.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks Kim

Yes, we had our first and second jabs in England, so I think you are right that we may as well wait.

Merry Christmas.

David.
