Hi

Different towns and regions have different procedures, and it will also depend on whether your son has private health insurance or is part of the Spanish system. I'd say your best bet is to contact his local Ayuntamiento to find out the procedure in your area. Good luck 🤞

Hi Julia and welcome to the forum,

When your son applied for residency, how did he demonstrate that he had healthcare provision? Also, how old is he?

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Julia

My husband and I arrived late October and in the final stages of Residencia ( finger prints last week) we have private health care but your son will need to take his passport/ Padron and European health card to a local medical centre and they will register him, he will need a Spanish phone number- the process only takes about 15 mins, they will also give him  a temp SIP card. We did this literally yesterday. We are in our 50’s.

I hope that helps - G 🤞🏻
