Hi... I have been told that it is easy to get an NIE number by downloading and filling in the forms and taking them to a local police station. It's apparently very quick and only cost €10.... is this correct please! Tia

It's easy to do if you follow information given in other threads in this forum, and the cost is €9.54.
However, you need to go to a national police station, not the local police.
If you don't want to risk being turned away, you also need and appointment (cita previa) which you can usually do online.
