We are in the last stages of our house sale and wondered if we can drive through France to our new house in Monover before Christmas.

Thanks

Hello

I think you should check nearer the time of your departure as things are changing all the time, at the moment you can't even drive through Spain as all the regions have closed their bounderies & currently, we have a nightime curfew in the Valencian region from 12mid - 6am

One of the exceptions is if you are returning to you habitual residence ( main home not holiday home), you would need all the documents to prove that you live here, for border checks i.e, padron, house deeds, residencia  etc, possibly bank statements - someone  on here, who is intending to  do this, will hopefully  tell you if you need anything else. As for France, I don't know where they are with rules/restrictions/laws at the moment. Spains CoronaVirus restrictions could update anytime, ( as could Englands) so check again closer to the time

Cheers

Great summary and good advice El.

N332 is another good source of info on the changing situation.

Hope you guys make it! 26 degrees here last week, albeit rainy today lol

Hi Jill, did you make it? If so let us know how you're finding Monovar, we drove here last year but took our car back in summer and flew back out here in October, we're now going through the residency process, we've submitted everything and crossed our fingers.

Hi Yes, I'm here in Monovar, what a lovely place and the people are very friendly too. I'm still finding my feet and trying to get a padron and things. I'm learning the language practising every day. Hope you get the chance to live here, I feel safer here than in England.

Regards

Jill

Good to hear, the padron is quite straightforward, hope to see you around town at some point.

Welcome to a growing circle in Monover Jill and best wishes for many happy days (it is still very Spanish thankfully). We love it too. The Town Hall can be a bit of a challenge for the Padron depending on your level of Spanish. Ours was ok but as soon as you get the right form, the wheels move. Just anticipate taking the kitchen sink in terms of doco along with you...but it happens. NIE, passport, any house purchase details...and maybe Rachel Mustow on the end of the phone just in case. She is gold dust.

Hope to catch up with you too Paul at some point! Warmer days now.

Best wishes,

D&J

Jill :)

It has been a lovely Sunday, the winds and cold have gone so a reminder as why we all did this. Last Feb we completed on ours and were in shorts. Prob slightly mad as our neighbors had their fleeces on.

Pm us an email address and we can send the Monover blank form over for Padron.

I have yet to find the one for a bonfire certificate on their site lol
