Can anyone assist with the website to get an appointment (Cita Previa) in Alicante (Calle Mayor) to get a SIP card? I have the S1 form from the UK, but can't find the right place to make the appointment online. Thanks a lot

Good morning Jim and thank you for this as usual. I had found this page yesterday, but having completed the first page and moved to the second page, I could not find a tick box that fitted the bill for SIP. Any further ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry, Martyn, that's why I said try it. What's obviously now needed is feedback from someone who's done it.

It's a long time since I did the deed myself, and at the time I did it the Spanish way - just turn up and join the queue. Whether or not that's still allowed, I don't know.

OK Jim, many thanks. I did it two years ago but, I had help from someone who had done it before and so I was looking over their shoulder at their screen.  Anyone else please that can throw some light on this one?

I don't know what it's like in your neck of the woods, but I recently assisted my 72 year old new English neighbour to get her SIP card, and there was no way the Denia Social Security office would grant us a face to face appointment, due to covid. All they would do was give us a leaflet on how to do it online.

What I did was set myself up as her representative (because I had an electronic certificate, which makes life a lot easier), then we submitted the application form, a representitive authorisation form, the S1 form, copy of passport and residencia card online, all in PDF format.

Within 24 hours I had a document returned to me by e-mail authorising the lady to access the Spanish healthcare system and an instruction to take it to the local health centre. This we did yesterday in Pego, where they processed the documents and gave her the SIP card.

Check out the following link. If you intend to do it this way, PM me and I can give you a few helpful pointers.

Note that you can only submit documents in PDF form. There may be a better way, but what I did was scan them (passport for example), copy the scan image onto a blank Word document, then convert the Word document to PDF.
