I'm a bit worried about our doctor here, she only speaks Spanish (yes l know l should learn but it takes time) I've heard this could be a major problem.

My question is how to communicate when talking about my health. Do l seek a translator to help?. I need to discuss in depth what my British GP prescribed and other conditions

This is one of those cases where a translator isn't just useful, but essential, as a misunderstanding by either you or the doctor could have serious consequences.

Once you've got over the initial hurdle, then further routine visits should be manageable without a translator, especially if you prepare what to say in advance, translate it, and hand a print of that to the doctor.
