15 yin my newly built Villa. ears ago, when l lived in Spain. l was recommended to have modern slim storage heaters fitted in my small villa.  They were a real success,  Fast forward  15 years to Spring 2020, l am buying a 2 storey townhouse.  Can anyone recommend how best to heat most of the rooms. l will have a log burner fitted in the open plan ground floor lounge area.  l would be grateful for any advise. Thanks Paddy

Hi Paddy,

We have Gabarron ecombi storage heaters fitted throughout our house:

https://www.elnur-global.com/storage-heaters/

They're wired into our consumer unit with integrated timers, so we have them set to charge between 1am and 8am, during the cheaper night time hours and discharge the heat during the day.  We love them: their neat, provide a consistent temperature throughout the house with no "cold spots" - and no mess  :o)

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Paddy,

We were lucky - the previous owners had them fitted in our house.  We're about 1.5 hours south of you, so you probably need a more local company.  I couldn't find anyone closer to you than Albacete (although I don't know your area well), so probably best to contact Gabarron and ask for details of your local installers:

Kind regards,

Kim

we have just replaced one of our log burners with a pellet stove, and love it!

its clean, programable, and theres no need to hunk logs into the house, making a mess

the pellet bags come in 15kg size, cost from 3.40€ -5.50€,  we have ours come on automatically between 7.30-9.30 in a morning and 5.30-9.30pm at night, so its warm when we get up and when we come in from work, we use 2 bags a week, so it is very cheap to run.

They have a fan that blows the hot air, so the heat is more or less instant, we often have to turn ours off at night as it gets too warm, but you can adjust the heat output too and the power of the fan, and there is an eco setting

We have a very large house and have 4 wood burners in total, one by one, we will be replacing them, yes the pellet burners are more expensive to buy, but my god! the difference is amazing
