Hello,

Don't know if you are aware, but due to the Brexit withdrawal agreement that ends on 31st Dec 2020 you are only allowed to stay in Spain for 90days out of a rolling 180day period, after that you have to apply for Residencia to live  in Spain. Can I suggest you read the guide in the link below which will explain more...there are many other guides on the link Jims Guides that will answer questions on the endless changes that are taking place. To find the scroll up to blue banner & find it there

Cheers

Hello

Thank you for that information. We we're totally unaware. How long do you have to be out of the country for?

Thanks

Lesley

Hello Lesley

As it stands, you have to leave for another 90days before you can visit again & that process starts again.

If anything changes we should know by the end of Dec. but thought it would help you to know before you book anything

Cheers

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Sorry but I believe your information to be incorrect. When Uk leaves the EU permanently on December 31st as non EU residents and therefore third country nationals we will only be allowed to visit Spain and All Shengen area (most of Europe) for 90 days maximum as per previous information, then leave for further 90 days until 180days have passed and ball starts rolling again. To the original poster, at present you could book for your October start upto 90days from January 1st, so in effect have approx 6months as Oct to Dec not monitored, but can't overstay until May as you will exceed the 90 days of Shengen rules from January 1st. This will only be possible this last time as you should really be applying for residency after 90days, (though not at present monitored).

Is this an absolute decision that has been ruled or is it still under negotiations?

Absolutely definite at present and doesn't look like any alternative in the future. Our government hasn't asked for any leniency regarding Shengen rules and Spain hasn't offered any alternative which would cause uproar as all other 3rd countries,, ie. US, Canada, Asia, Africa etc have had to abide those rules since Shengen rules were applied. Why should UK be singled out?

I didn't say you did, it was meant as that's how the EU would see it so I can't see them rushing to give Uk special priveleges.
