Hi all

I recently bought a used car and leave it outside my holiday home in las filipinas I was hoping someone could give me some help on how to pay the car tax on line ( I believe it was due at end of may) I have not received any car tax demands so have no guide lines on how to pay it as I'm now back home I was hoping I could do it on line so any help would be greatly appreciated TIA Gary

When did you buy it? If it was after January 1st it is the sellers responsibility this year.

I bought it around the 4th Jan 2022 but the car company said I was responsible in getting the car taxed at end of May 🤔

But I put a deposit on it in sept 2021 if that makes a difference

That makes it a little more complicated. From what I understand, unless they have put it in the sale contract that it was purchased in Sep 2021 and you are liable for the suma it depends on when the car was actually transferred, if it was after the 1st Jan, it's legally the sellers responsibility. Morally is a different story though :)

To answer your question though, if you don't have a previous bill or a firma digital I think you will need to call them. You could try emailing although I don't know if they can help that way.

Have a look at the N332 website as it deals with anything to do with driving in Spain and is for English speaking people.   If you cannot find anything in it then ask your question on their Facebook page.

Hi

Your road tax can be set up as direct debit for next one which will take away the worry if you are not here to renew it. It is to late for this year’s set up as the timescale has lapsed.

Regards

Hi & thanks to all who replied, I phoned the Suma office who told me the car was all clear and taxed up to 2023 and that next year the demand will be in my name so again thanks 😊
