We have a young dog that is 9 months that we no longer wish to own as we are moving out from a property to a rental that doesn’t allow pets. Does anyone know how we can find a new home for a his dog, it’s mixed breed, 100% healthy and totally up to date with all vaccinations, including Leishmaniasis-can anyone suggest new owner or rescue centre?

I had to read this post twice. “You no longer wish to own” I am so pleased you think it’s a choice to pick and choose animal ownership.

Why not put in a bit of effort and search out the best option for the dog or at least try and find a Rescue Centre instead of pushing the responsibility on to others. You are obviously not an animal lover otherwise this post would not exist.
The irresponsibility of people regarding these innocent animals of all varieties never ceases to amaze me.

Martyn, that’s very kind of you, I realise that I’ve upset a lot of people here but there is a back-story to this that they don’t know and I can promise you we have loved and committed ourselves to this dog110% , we are not bad people, and would chose to keep but our circumstances are such that we just aren’t going to make this possible, thanks for trying , the dog is an amazing animal and deserves the best.

Rescue shelters here run by brits are great places and they do their best to rehome. You don't own an animal. They love you and it's a privilege. They are not to be passed around like a parcel. Very sad thing to read. Your title of "unwanted" animal will upset a lot of people. It sounds heartless !!

Morally unacceptable. You should have got a rental that accepts pets, plenty out there. Shame on you.
