Hi

I am looking for advice, I obtained an NIE number last year, I am a resident in Northern Ireland. I have since obtained an Irish passport.

How do I update my NIE to register my Irish passport?

I want to use my Irish passport for future travel, for ease of travel and restrictions for non EU pasport holders.

Any advice would be great appreciated. 😊

Many Thanks

Marie

I’ve done the same and I have not changed anything, I don’t think you need to as the NIE has nothing to do with passport.

Hi,

Your NIE has nothing to do with your passport at all.

Your NIE is a lifetime number that is the same as the UK national insurance number and is a unique identification and tax number.
