Hi

I'm doing the ferry crossing from Plymouth to Santander in a couple of weeks with my wife and family.

I plan to bring some items with me in the back of my VW T5 van (golf clubs, clothes, personal items) to leave out at the apartment, is this allowed now?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark

You have a duty free allowance of €430 per person of "gifts" or belongings to bring in when arriving by plane or sea but only €300 if crossing border by road as per Spanish tax website. Make sure all goods look 6months old, no meat, fruit and veg, or dairy products allowed. If you are bringing a boot full, write a list in english and Spanish with approx 2nd hand values just in case you are asked. We came with car full last month and I offered list at customs but only asked if we had a pet. On saying no we were moved on and list not looked at. We brought sauce mixes, chutneys and pickles, custard powder, instant gravy(vegan not meat) as all difficult to find(or expensive in english outlets). Hope this helps

Regards

Pauline
