Hi

I've got flights booked to Alicante with Easyjet on 2nd April to visit our apartment. Still looks like flights are going which they wont be. There seems to be talks of Vouchers but that's no good for me as i've booked for 10 people as we were going to the SABS Convention in Calpe first.

Has anyone got any tips to get a refund from Easyjet or have managed to get a refund since the pandemic began ?

Thanks

I realise this is for the US but roughly the same applies in the EU. Just hang on until you receive the cancellation e-mail.

Our flights to Alicante were cancelled a matter of hours before the flight on 15th March and they said a refund would be issued with no mention of rebooking.

I haven’t had any further communications from them regarding the refund and I have been unable to reach them, in case they have a procedure to follow. So do I just wait?

All these airlines giving prices and dates available are simply giving us misleading information.

Have you checked the cancellation e-mail they sent you? If you follow the link in that e-mail it takes you straight to an easy form which takes 2 minutes to complete.

Hi Cheryl,

It has been impossible to speak to JET2 on the phone but I did fill out the compensation form. As I understand it, the Jet2 compensation policy is nothing to do with their refund procedure. I did however fill in the form giving my Boarding Passes as proof.  I did not refer to any other costs sustained.

Funnily enough, the first one I tried to fill in as a Jet2 passenger member said my e-mail didn’t match my booking reference! Rubbish.

I had no separate independent insurance for this booking so I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for your help,

Janice

Easyjet cynically removed the option to apply for a refund via its website, thus 'encouraging' passengers - most notably those stranded and needing a return flight with someone, anyone - to re-schedule.

As you imply, further flights offered are disingenuous, 'phantom' flights since Easyjet itself has announced some days ago that its entire fleet is grounded with no speculated resume date.

In my view, this behaviour is a scandal.

To answer your question directly, a refund is possible. You need to call them.

Good luck with that.
