Hi.first post on here. Been reading on here for a good few months, very informative and was hoping my first post would be written in September  from the porch of the Villa we were buying.

However yesterday the vendors solicitor emailed to inform us property no longer for sale, despite us paying a deposit and signing contract.Gutted. sold most our furniture, car and remortgaged our UK property when our house sale fell though to keep purchase on track.

The Villa was well run down but still a good price but seller decided more money most important. I'VE ALWAYS LOOKED FOR THE BEST IN PEOPLE. .......HOPE KARMA PREVAILS

RANT OVER !

We paid a small deposit of €3000  which has been refunded + another €3000 as per our contract. € 400 goes to Spanish solicitors and have incurred costs on remortgage with nothing to show for all our time and efffort.

Scum people

I feel your pain mate....a proper kick between the legs and all the tea in China won’t help at the minute....happened to us years ago but in a different country.

All I will say is some things aren’t meant to be and somewhere down the line your no doubt look back upon this episode and think.......best thing to ever happen!

Good luck in the future and iam sure your get a better place!

As you say..Karma!

People seem to have missed this early reply from the OP.     He has clearly stated that he has already received his original deposit x2 back.

I believe you are entitled by law to your deposit back plus the seller has to cough up the deposit amount on top. So you should get double your deposit. Check with your solicitor but that is what we were told when we bought four years ago.

Hi You do not say what the original price of the property and your offer to buy, i guess you probably offered some rock bottom price and he was desperate to sell then realized he could get an half decent price elswhere, i have had it from the other side of the coin and if that is the case what comes around goes around
