Hi Everyone

This is our first visit to the site.  We are looking to gain as much info on the Villamartin  area as we can.  We are hoping to buy a property but we are not sure exactly where.   So we are coming out in June to look around the area.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Is there any areas we should avoid?

Many thanks

Pam and Barry

Hi

I have a property in Panorama Golf, which is just a 7 minute walk from the Plaza, (I'm timed myself many times and I'm not a fast walker).  It's just the other side of the golf course and the trees keep away any noise from the Plaza, so it's very quiet and convenient.  There are houses and apartments.  It's a very nice quite development and well managed.  I've always been very happy with the property.  Also, they houses are a very good price.

Enjoy your stay, I'm out there in June too, weather should be perfect.

Hi Pam & Barry

I had an apartment in Pinada Golf II - set in lovely gardens - good location as you can access Plaza and La Fuente centre on foot

I prefer La Fuente but it is personal choice

It is a 10 minute walk from Pinada Golf II to the Plaza and La Fuente

I sold the apartment in November as I am buying a villa in Villamartin to move permanently in June - builders permitting !

I love the area but would suggest you stay there and get out to the different areas before making a decision where to buy

Good luck!

Maggie

Playa Flamenca is the best.  You can walk to the la Zenia boulevard, to the coast and the market.

Thank you everyone for all your advice and information it has been very useful.  It is good to get some info from people who know the areas and not just from the selling agents.  We are going to keep researching and when we come over in June hire a car and look around.  I think we will need to come over a number of times until we get a feel for where we like and would suit our family.

We want a place that has got life all year round and  has shops, restaurants etc within a reasonable walking distance.   We have been told we would be best then to buy in a residential area, but we don't know which ones are residential and which are mainly holidaymakers.

Also there seems to be a lot of new builds going on.   Does anyone have any thoughts on buying a new build property?

Thanks again.

Complete waste of time getting advice on a forum. Get yourself over here and get a feel for things

Three or four key areas

Plaza

Los Dolses

La Fuente

El Galan

All have different qualities. If your coming over in June make sure you visit all of the areas. After a 3 or 4 day trip you will know what area you like best. Then you can target properties in whichever area you preferred.

If you are not careful you will over think it. Just immerse yourself in the area for a couple of days this is much more valuable than getting 1001 different opinions on a forum.

One slight warning. The pound is the lowest it's been for months and will collapse completely if May doesn't landslide the election. Therefore properties are costing an awful lot more.

Please bear this in mind if you have a budget

Thank you all for your advice and comments, we have taken everything on board and have gained a lot of information regarding areas.

Looking forward to getting over in the next few weeks.  Hire a car and look around.

Thanks again.

Hi Barry and Pam

I am in the process of buying a new build in Villamartin - Augusta Sunset Villas

The process has been quite straightforward but you do have to factor in buying extras which may or may not be included in the price e.g. cooker, dishwasher, washing machine - I have had to pay extra for these

I looked at a brand new property in Campoamor that included all of the above plus furniture and it was less that the one I am buying - one of these is still for sale it is  a 3 bed 3 bathroom townhouse - Algeria Las Ocas - being sold through Algeria Real Estate 169,900 Euro

If you look at the website there is a video and pictures

I just didn't like the property although I liked the area - so you really have to see for yourself what suits you

PS

My property was due to be finished the end of March - they are now saying the end of June - so bear that in mind !

Happy Hunting!

We brought on Pinada Golf 2 last year and love it 😀

Risky as we had never been to the area before but no regrets!!
