We are coming to Vilamartin next week.  Hoping to play golf but it looks like there may be limited availability.  Wondering what other things we can do if golf is not an option?  Any ideas welcome?  Any trips to places of interest?  Walks etc?

Not much at all to do in Villamartin if there is no golf. You will need to travel to another area.

Hi

I would advise you to hire a car, if you haven't already done so. Depending on where you are in Villamartin, it can be difficult getting around, and taxis are a bit of a nightmare this year - there's simply not enough of them!

With a car, look at where you can get to on the two roads, the N332 and the AP7 - perhaps starting with Cartagena and Alicante. Or if you want a national park, try Sierra Espuna.

Cheers

You could try Las Ramblas golf or Campoamor Golf, both about a 5 min drive from Villamartin. Slightly further afield is Vistabella Golf Club, approx 20 mins.

Make sure to bring plenty of money as golf in Spain is not cheap!

Aitch.

Eh???

All the other posters after my post are saying exactly the same, that travel is necessary for day and evening entertainment.  Read all the posts after mine and don't single me out.

I've spent a lot of time around Villamartin as I have relatives there and apart from the Plaza you need transport to get anywhere!!!

Apart from golf, there are lovely walks and cycle rides, and autumn normally perfect weather for this - you can hire bikes from https://costablancabikehire.com/ who will deliver the bikes to you, then you have safe routes along the canal in both directions.

There is a walking group based in Torrevieja if you wanted to meet others https://www.meetup.com/es-ES/torrevieja-walking-group/, which is free.

There is a circular bus which allows travel to the coastal path and shopping centre, but obviously much more convenient if you have your own car - some lovely cities to visit Murcia, Alicante and Cartegena. And street markets such as Almoradi ( authentic ) and Lemon Tree / Guardemar ( large and lots of street food)

Depending upon where in Villamartin you are based there is a good choice of bars and restaurants which would allow you to walk.

Enjoy!

Hi try the trip to Tabarca Island. Book on line €10 ea, Boat leaves from Santa Paola every half hour. Parking on the quay at €10 for the day. A very inexpensive day out. Worth a try.
