Catarac operation

Can anyone tell me if I need a friend with me at Torrevieja hospital when I have my catarac removed?
Will my friend have to be with me all the time at the hospital?

You will need a friend as you can't drive yourself home. Whilst you are having the actual cataract surgery your friend should wait in the waiting room, tell them to take a book, magazine or knitting!
