You will need to apply for a work visa and apply for self employment and be able to comply with all that entails. To live in Spain you will need to prove that you have full healthcare for yourself and your family and be able to prove you have the required income for yourself and family. Schooling arrangements will need to be made for your child.

Hi Matt, I understand that the new rules are that you have to apply for Spanish residency from the country that you are currently residing. I would start off by contacting the Spanish embassy.

Start by looking at the .Gov website: Moving to Spain section.

Dont want to put a downer on your dreams, but you could be working for 50-75 euros a day, come out first and pick up local newspapers, there loads that advertise painting an whole house for 400 euros.

Hi Matt,

When you decide to make the move I and many others will require your services. There are many trades that are doing handsomely through word of mouth.

Good luck.
