Hi All, received a letter from our gas supplier that a regulatory 5 year inspection is now due, we have not seen anything for this before in the last 15 years so wondered if this is something new.

Does this need to be done by the gas supplier or can an independent gas engineer do it?

They are indicating a charge of €54 and not sure if this the going rate.

Any recommendations for local gas engineer welcomed

Thanks

Clive

Hi,

Yes, our Repsol gas engineer makes periodic inspection of the installation, pipes and ventilation. I think that charge is about right.

Yes, that cost is about right.

If your installation includes flexible gas connections (orange of black rubber pipes), these are date-stamped. Their life is 5 years. If yours are time-expired, no certificate will be issued. The technician will change them at extra cost.
