Good afternoon, just been informed that alicante airport is opening for international flight on the 17th June, but UK as just announced that all British national must do 14 days quarantine on return from foreign travel, so is spain doing the same on arrival. If so a few days viewing trip turns into a month, can anyone advise us about this issue, take care be safe. Yours sincerely Tony.
I'm trying to get back to my holiday home from the UK and have booked a flight out on 17th June for 10 days. Would mean I'd have to stay a bit longer which wouldn't be a problem, but agree anyone coming from the UK just for viewings would be costly and will the hotels be opened by then? Will have to wait and see.

Super helpful member
About two months too late !
Informed by whom?
Without authentication I'm afraid such 'news' has to be regarded as rumour or speculation.

As it stands the borders are closed and flights being available from 17th June is more in hope by the airlines than any hint from the Spanish government. The Canary Islands and the Balearics are talking about letting in tourists from Germany and Austria and some other nations, including Greece are talking about flights between countries that have been least affected but the UK is the bogey man in Europe at the moment so I don't hold out much hope for changes any time soon. It seems as if summer 2020 has mainly been written off by the tourist industry already.
Of course this may change but I think Spain will at least wait to see if a second wave hits us or the UK before making any decisions to open up the borders fully.

Dear Cheryl thanks for taking the time to reply, I agree but don't want to let anyone down, so l have to wait a week or two take care Tony
Tony, thanks for your post.
I haven't heard any official announcement Re. Alicante Airport and wouldn't expect to hear anything until towards the back end of the current Spanish 'phases'.
In similar vane there hasn't been any official announcement in the UK over the 14 day quarantine period.
The Airline Industry have mooted it as being in the PMs speech tomorrow but until it is announced by the Government then nothing is certain.

Hi Tony, I can't be any help at the moment but we are also keeping up to date with whats happening. We are in the middle of buying a property in the city area and am concerned that once it has gone through we won't be able to get out to it. If I find out anything I'll put it on here.
Stay safe

Hi leckyles, thanks for your reply regarding the 14 day quarantine but the UK government announced this yesterday live on TV starting on 1st June, and if the Spanish did the same it's possible going to kill off the holiday season, thanks you for your response take care be safe Tony
