If you want to rent a property long term the best opportunities will be by visiting local estate agents and have everything available ie proof of ID, deposit monies.

Long term rental can be hard to find and can become unavailable within hours. If you find somewhere you like then take it immediately, dithering will lose it.

Online agents are a waste of time.

A couple of websites that may provide some information for you are as follows:

Citizens Advice Bureau Spain for bureaucratic stuff, and

N332 for anything to do with driving in Spain.   The website, and their Facebook page, is for English speaking people and has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.   Both sites are run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil.

When I was in your position a few years ago I found the following Website extremely useful and in fact found my first and current accommodations through it. The Website contains most properties currently on the market through both property agencies and private landlords.
