BrokenLock in Sliding Window
For the 2nd time a window lock counterpart (contracierre) on one of our sliding windows has broken and the window cannot be locked. I am furious that there is apparently no simple way to replace the broken part in the window frame. You can buy them in any Ferreteria, but there's apparently no easy way to replace them in the window frame. It appears that there is no choice but to force the replacement into the guide rail by brute force, i.e. using tools to bend the guide rail wide enough to slip the part in and then to bend the warped parts of the rail back into shape, in the process messing up the paint work. Seems ridiculous to me, that there is no easy or other neat way to do this, or am I wrong? Am I overlooking something? I have attached a photo of the locking part.
