Hi,

my neighbours are travelling to Spain in mid-Feb. They need clarity as to what is required to travel. They are just going for a few days but are concerned about getting it all right.

They have all their jabs and covid certs. As far as I know, they must complete a Passenger Locator Form. Is there something about needing a new QR code?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Kevin

Current travel regulations are due to be updated in the next couple of days. If things don’t change then yes,  SpTH form needs to be completed and need to be  at least double jabbed.

But changes to the EU Covid Certificate have been announced and if it’s more than 270 days since you’ve had your  full dose (1/1 or 2/2) you need to have had a booster (3rd jab) for the certificate to be valid.

Covid certificates will still be required to allow entry to bars/restaurants. This has been extended to 28th February, but still waiting official DOGV.

Spain are notorious for not announcing changes to  covrestrictions until the very last minute.

Always best to follow the current guidance issued by the Irish Department for Foreign Affairs which can be found by clicking on this link:

https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/spain/

If travelling from Northern Ireland the guidance/rules may differ please refer to:

Travellng from Ireland ,fully vaccinated, you need the Spanish passenger location form which is available two days before you travel, when completed ,this has a code in the top right corner which is read at Alicante airport just after Passport control, and your Irish EU Covid cert which also has a code on it,which at the moment is checked before you board in Dublin and maybe looked at on arrival in Spain,BUT ,under current regulations in Spain you are required to show every time you go into a bar or restaurant ,( plus ID,I carry my passport card).

That's it,however if you are not vaccinated you have made a choice to jump through hoops and I don't have a clue as to what or how you can travel.
