Hello. Has anyone who is a UK national, but is the partner/spouse if an Irish/other EU passport holder, been through the process of obtaining a visa to entitle them to the same freedom of movement wuthin the EU, that their partner has? I have started filling in the forms, but they are not clear, regarding start/finish dates of the visa.

The BLS helpline and the Spanish Consulate have been no help in clarifying the required information, so if anyone has been through the process and can advise, it will be appreciated - thanks!

As far as I know after living for 57 years permamnently in Spain it's the other way around, a non-EU family member of a EU national can enjoy the same benefits and rights of the latter.

OK, you've read my post in a different way to which it was intended. I mean exactly as you are saying ie; me, as the UK passport holder, getting the same benefits regarding travel within the EU, as my Irish passport holding partner has.

One and only way I think is to marry!! Then you piggyback on your spouse when travelling
