I suspect you will come up against the visa problem. You will probably need a work visa which may be difficult to obtain unless you have very specialised skills. All employment has to be offered to EU citizens first and only if there is no one with the necessary qualifications can it be offered to anyone else.

Thank-you Stephanie. I am recently married to a Spanish citizen, and we are working on obtaining an N.I.E. Would it help employers to know that is coming shortly, or should I just wait until I have it?
Thank-you very much for your time!

Do you mean NIE which is the register of foreigners here, or do you mean the TIE which is the residence permit? I am not certain of the precise rules regarding Spanish spouses, I am sorry.
If you mean the NIE, that should not be too onerous to obtain, and it may be as well to wait until you have it in your hot little hand as it is usually the first document or number requested for anything. However, whilst a working permit visa would certain,y be required for most people who wished to take up employment here, I am not certain of the position given your marriage status. For most people, they would have to be legally offered employment by a Spanish employer who would then undertake the visa process on their behalf. It can take some time. The alternative is self employment, autónomo, but that requires business plans fully costed etc etc etc.
I think your best solution is to either consult your Embassy or a local Gestor familiar with employment law and foreign residents.
Please let me know how you get on
