Sounds like a dodgy earth.
Get an electrician to check it for you.

Most probably the oven's heating unit has a shortcut and needs to be replaced, which needs only elementary mechanical skills and less than 30 mins. and some 10,- for the unit. Be prepared to learn from a "specialist" that your oven is outdated and not worth being repaired. Selling you a new one means more money for less work or no work at all..
"Sounds like a dodgy earth" least likely problem, listen to killjoy although "less than 30 minutes and €10 for the unit" might be a tad on the optimistic side especially when some would rather chance it with crappy UK travel adapters than even attempt to change a plug !

We had exactly the same problem when we bought our place (if you had the oven on with pretty much any other appliance, the breaker tripped) & it was a dodgy earth.
Took a qualified spark about 30 seconds to diagnose & rectify it.
He didn't even charge me.
(Still gave him a tenner though because that's how I am.)

If you've been absent from the house for any length of time, and it was working OK before you left, then it might just be damp allowing the live to leak to earth.
What's tripping - the circuit breaker, the earth leakage breaker/residual current device, or the meter?

If your competent, It might be worth checking the ovens heating element/s, check to see if one area is burnt or broken, please remember to isolate first to avoid electrocution. new elements can be bought on-line from £5.00 in the UK, what price in Spain? good luck and work safe, electricity is a silent killer as you can not see it, smell it or hear it, so be warned.

Hi Volvolady, lots of confusing and conflicting advice given here . Some informed and relevant, and some completely ill informed and quite irrelevant.
